Game overview

Put Out The Fire is a physics puzzle where you draw or place water and paths to guide it onto burning targets. Each level is a small contraption, and you have to work out where to cut a line or drop a droplet so the flow reaches every flame. Success depends on reading gravity and slopes rather than reacting quickly.

This title is best suited to players who like creative draw-to-solve physics puzzles.

How to play Put Out The Fire

  1. Study the level to spot every flame and the water source.
  2. Draw a line or place a plug to redirect the water flow.
  3. Let gravity carry the water down your drawn path.
  4. Guide the stream so it reaches each burning target.
  5. Adjust or erase your lines if the flow misses a flame.
  6. Douse every fire to clear the level.

Controls

  • Click and drag: Draw a path or barrier for the water
  • Tap / click: Place or release the water source

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Route water onto every flame in the level.
  • Direct the flow with drawn paths and barriers.
  • Put out all fires to advance.

The run ends or fails when

  • Water draining away before reaching the flames.
  • Leaving one or more fires still burning when the water runs out.

Gameplay mechanics

  • Gravity-driven water physics.
  • Player-drawn paths and barriers that steer the flow.
  • Multiple flames that must all be extinguished.
  • Erase-and-retry adjustment of your drawings.

Tested compatibility and loading

Desktop browser

Works well: Mouse drawing gives fine control over water paths.

Mobile browser

Works well: Finger drawing works, though fine lines are harder on small screens.

Tablet

Works well: Larger canvas makes precise path drawing easier.

Loading test: pass (1800 ms). Timed from request to the first level accepting a drawn line.

Notes: Fluid physics added a slight load, but all runs stayed within target.

Tips for Put Out The Fire

  • Follow the water's natural fall before adding lines.
  • Draw shallow slopes to spread the flow across flames.
  • Use short barriers to nudge the stream rather than long walls.
  • Erase and retweak instead of starting a level over.

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Creative, open-ended solutions.
  • Satisfying fluid physics.
  • Easy to adjust and experiment.

Cons

  • Fine line drawing is tricky on phones.
  • Physics can behave unpredictably on complex layouts.
