Game overview

Fill Line is a one-line drawing puzzle where you trace a continuous path that covers every empty cell in a grid without crossing itself or lifting off. Each level is a compact maze of tiles, and the challenge is finding the single route that visits them all. Solutions are usually unique, so it becomes a logic exercise rather than a reflex test.

This title is best suited to players who like unhurried logic path puzzles.

How to play Fill Line

  1. Look at the grid and find a likely starting cell, often a corner.
  2. Press and drag from that cell to begin drawing the line.
  3. Move through adjacent cells to fill them one by one.
  4. Avoid crossing your own path or leaving a cell unreachable.
  5. Reverse a step by dragging back if you paint into a dead end.
  6. Fill every cell in one unbroken line to solve the level.

Controls

  • Press and drag: Draw the connected fill line
  • Drag backward: Undo the last cells of the line

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Cover every empty cell in the grid.
  • Keep the line unbroken and non-crossing.
  • Solve each level in a single continuous stroke.

The run ends or fails when

  • Stranding one or more cells that the line can no longer reach.
  • Being forced into a dead end before all cells are filled.

Gameplay mechanics

  • Continuous non-crossing path drawing.
  • Backtracking by dragging in reverse.
  • Fixed-shape grids with a single valid route.
  • Instant level validation once every cell is filled.

Tested compatibility and loading

Desktop browser

Works well: Click-drag drawing is precise with a mouse.

Mobile browser

Works well: Touch dragging is the natural way to trace paths.

Tablet

Works well: Bigger grid cells reduce accidental mis-drags.

Loading test: pass (1200 ms). Timed from load to the first grid accepting a drag.

Notes: Lightweight assets loaded almost immediately both times.

Tips for Fill Line

  • Start from a corner or dead-end cell since it must be an endpoint.
  • Fill tricky narrow corridors before open areas.
  • Trace the route mentally before committing your drag.
  • If a cell gets boxed off, undo early rather than pushing on.

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Pure logic with no time pressure.
  • Fast loading and instant restarts.
  • Easy to learn, satisfying to solve.

Cons

  • Later levels can feel like trial and error.
  • Minimalist presentation offers little visual variety.
